Aldie's Bicentennial

Hello to all our new friends!  It was great to meet you on Aldie's Bicentennial at the Aldie Peddler!

Ian, Lee and I had so much fun and want to thank Wally & Terry for allowing us to have our beef tasting with their wonderful wines!  We only wish we had had more time to talk to all of you, but we had to keep those burgers & sirloins cooking! We are very proud of our Angus Beef and were thrilled in your interest and comments.

As we discussed with many of you, the beef you tasted was aged 24 days, our cattle live on rolling hills rich with beautiful pastures, fed once a day with barley and finished on corn.  We purchase all of our grain locally & from the Amish.  Our abattoir (butcher) is in Winchester, Virginia.  If you go to our website, there is an attached article about Mr. Dehaven's shop ( www.prideoftheplains.com ).  The reason we chose Carl Dehaven's to process our beef for our customers is because we love the way he cuts, works with our customers to cut to your specifications and because it's a local, small shop with always - a can do attitude!

We presently have 1 side and 1 front quarter available for delivery next week - both will be aged 21 days this Friday.  If you are interested, please give us a call.  If you want to order in the future, remember that once we receive your order, it will take almost 1 month to dry age - so get your orders in early - grilling season is here!

Again, thanks for all of your enthusiasm at our tasting!  A reminder - you are always welcome to visit the farm.  Have a wonderful summer!

Nina
